| This pitcher is marked Howard & Co., 1889, New York and Sterling. This Company was in business from 1866 to 1922, Almost every piece is marked with the date of manufacture. This piece was made in 1889. It is spun silver highly polished on the outside. The pitcher is 8 1/2" at the highest point. It is 10 1/2" from end of spout to end of handle. The top is 6 1/2" in diameter. The main body is about 8" in diameter and the bottom is 5" in diameter. It sits on a 1/4" raised base. It weighs 3 regular pounds (48 ounces). The pitcher holds 4 quarts (one gallon). This is the largest pitcher I have ever had. It is in fantastic condition for a piece this old. There is no monogram. |
