| These compotes are both marked Stieff, the crown mark, S, Sterling and 120 A. Number one is also marked with a diamond for manufacture in 1917. Number two is also marked with a 16 in a circle for manufacture in 1916. Number one is decorated with Roses, Daisies and of course leaves and tiny edge flowers. Number two is decorated with Roses, Chrysanthemums, leaves and tiny edge flowers. The monogram is the same on both compotes an interlocking (possibly RHC or RHTC). The interlocking monograms are such that you can hardly tell what they are. Both compotes are 6 1/2" in diameter at the top, 3 7/8" in diameter at the bottom and about 3 1/4" high. They each weigh 9 ounces. They are hand chased and the depth and detail of the design is crisp as can be. This is a beautiful pair and they are in fantastic shape. Price is for the Pair. |
