| This Stieff Bread Tray is marked Stieff Sterling, 201A and a pentagon. This denotes manufacture in 1925. It is 12 3/4" by 8 1/2" by 2" high on the ends and 1" high on the sides. It weighs 17 ounces. As you see this early piece has the repousse all the way down to the sides to the flat bottom. The Roses are deep and crisp.In later pieces the repousse is only about half this deep. There is a monogram an I. This is in old English engraving so it is hard to tell that is what it is. This is a fantastic old piece. |
